Styles of Afghan Jewelry

Baluchi, Turkmen (Turkoman), Kazakh, Waziry, Kuchi, Pashtun, Hazara, and Uzbek are just a few of the ethnic groups inhabiting Afghanistan and Central Asia. Each group has distinctive techniques employed in jewelry making. Many of their designs reflect their culture and beliefs. Turkmen people, for example, are breeders of famed Akhal-Teke horses and Karakul sheep.  Below are photos of some examples. More to come.
